Managing fatigue

My fatigue is getting worse. I don’t know what else to do. I’ve talked to my neurologist couple times she doesn’t feel it’s related to my MS, which I don’t know how it can be. Makes it hard to keep a job. It makes it hard to even function some days most days.

  1. 'm so sorry you’re going through this. It must be incredibly frustrating not to have clear answers, especially when fatigue is affecting your daily life and ability to work. It’s understandable to feel like it could be linked to your MS, even if your neurologist isn't sure. Have you considered seeking a second opinion or asking about other possible causes or treatments for the fatigue? I hope you’re able to find some answers soon. All in all, you're not alone in this, and we're here to support you. Warmly, Latoya (Team Member)

    1. there are times when fatigue is so bad that I have had to pull over to the side of the road or in a parking lot to take a short nap to feel like I am able to drive.

    2. My goodness! Needing to pull over just to rest shows how overwhelming it can get. It’s good that you’re listening to your body and taking those breaks when you need to, especially when it comes to something as important as driving. Staying safe is key, but I can imagine how frustrating it must feel to be hit with that level of exhaustion out of nowhere. Continue to listen to your body and rest whenever your body needs it! You're in my thoughts, Latoya (Team Member)

  2. I need to get someone to ride with me due to fatigue as I need to stop and walk around my car to shake off fatigue!!

  3. I wasn’t going to write, but first of all I pressed a part here by mistake where it says to report something wrong.. that was a mistake so to those in charge of these reports, Please ignore!!! So since I am here, let me say that my ms is pretty minimal, or at least in most ways it has been. I was 57 when I had a major (sort of ) event and was dx’s with MS. I am not a morning person. Never have been but managed to get thru life going to school and working for a few years and raising 5 children. No matter what time I awake, I don’t go to sleep until after 2 or 3 in the morning or so. I have heard a lot about fatigue and I can’t say I had fatigue except now and then. If I get involved in a night time movie then I usually stay up until it is over no matter what the time. Just saying we are all
different even with MS. There are days that I do feel tired but not necessarily fatigued like some here have mentioned. I am rather low key anyway maybe a little more tired at times now that I am older.

    1. , no worries on the 'report' issue. It happens from time to time and it's no big deal; but thank you for letting us know.

And, for what it's worth, I am glad it nudged you into sharing! I, too, am a night owl, with three teenagers still at home. It can be hard to be a nightowl in a world that understandably favors early risers. I do look forward to a time when I don't *have* to get up to get kids to school and get to work on time.

I am glad that, for the most part, your MS symptoms are manageable!

And, don't be a stranger! Feel free to jump in and comment anytime you like!
