Progressive ms

Hi I have progressive ms I've had ms for 20 years it started with pins and needles and slowly gotten worse I now can't walk properly I have no balance & no feeling in my feet so I'm Alloway's cutting feet without feeling it .

  1. Hello and welcome, ! I am glad you took the time to join this community and introduce yourself. We know living with MS can be a real challenge, to say the least.

Are you on any medications for your MS? Do you feel like they are helping? I just worry a bit that you run the risk of getting infections if you are cutting your feet and not feeling it. I am sure you are well aware of the risks, but still, I wanted to mention it, just to be safe.

Please know you are in good company here and we have many, many members that can relate to what you shared.

Don't hesitate to reach out if you have any MS related questions or questions about this community. We're happy to help in any way we can.

I look forward to "seeing" you around this site!

    1. Hello yes I'm on pain relief medication I take baclophen, amitriptyline, pregablin all for pain relief it does help a bit but I still have nerve pain , when I first noticed I had something wrong with me I had a lumber punch for spinal fluid to see if I had markers in the fluid MRI scan to see if I had any scaring & yes I had scarring on my brain that was 15 years ago I could walk then but now I can't walk very far now so I have to use a wheelchair when I go out .

      1. , oh, goodness. I know nerve pain can be especially hard to get under control and I am sorry you are all too familiar with it.

I know a few of our members can relate to the progression of MS, from being able to walk, to needing to use a wheelchair more and more frequently. It's an unwelcome progression, but I see members like yourself make the best of it and not let MS keep them from going out, even if it does sometimes require a mobility aid.

Again, I am glad you joined us here!
