Journaling has helped my mental health

I have kept a diary since I was a little kid. I used to write about all kinds of things I did growing up. As an adult, my journal has helped me to work through the shock of being diagnosed with MS and all the ways my life has changed. I just wrote an article on the ways that journaling can benefit your health, especially mental health. I included research links for anyone who wanted to explore further into this subject. Link in bio. Do you journal? Do you find it helpful? Lately, I'm really liking the journals that come with daily prompts. Has anyone tried those?

  1. , I love this! I used to keep a journal as a kid and young adult, but sadly, those journals didn't survive some overzealous purging on my part. Yikes. I love that you are researching (and writing!) about the benefits of journaling and though I haven't tried the journals with the daily prompts, they sound cool and make a lot of sense. I may have to check one of those out! Thanks! Erin, MultipleSclerosis.net Team Member.

    1. I did the same thing! I had a small trunk full of diaries from when I was little and then fancy journals from my teens and early 20's. Then I met my husband and thought do I really want to bring these (when we got married) I threw them all away, much to my regret! Little did I know that my husband wouldn't look at them if they were open right in front of him. LOL!! The ones I like and give as gifts all the time are - A Year of Self-Reflection Journal: 365 Days of Guided Prompts to Slow Down, Tune In, and Grow by GG Renee Hill and Start Where You Are by Meera Lee Patel. That one I love to give at HS graduations. I freak out the kids by slipping their check in there, LOL

    2. , yep! That's pretty much what I did as well! Talk about regrets! Thanks so much for the journal suggestions (and I love that check suggestion -- I may have to try it 😉 )! Best, Erin, MultipleSclerosis.net Team Member.
