Insurance with disability rider

Not sure if anyone else has this issue but sure I am not the only one that has Life ins with a Disability Rider meaning if I become disabled the company picks up the premium for me ! Ok for yrs o pd this Ins not realizing this rider was on the policy till the premium went so high I was going to have to drop it then discovered this !! 😱 ok every single Yr I get this booklet of paperwork to fill out and same for my doctor ! My doctor says I will never be able to return to work ! That should be end of discussion ! Period ! I have MS ! He even stated my condition was getting worse !! What part of MS doesn't get better does these companies not understand and continues to cause undo stress by sending Me all this paperwork to fill out every single yr !! Then if one thing is not like they want it , I can be denied or the ins company can say oh but u can do some work to pay ur premium ! Ahhhhh it makes me want to scream! When discussing this with my Md last wk my blood pressure went extremely high , I got a headache so anything causing this much undo stress is not a good thing and once a physician signs off on paperwork saying no a person with a progressive Dx like MS will never return to work that should be it !! End of it - company pays premiums till they receive a death notice and then they can quit paying !! Has anyone else had this problem and if so how did u resolve it ? Plz send me some helping resolutions here !!!!🤷‍♀️

  1. I was denied Life Insurance by the company that swears "You will NOT be turned down." Because of my MS/MS meds. I'm still looking for one that will accept me and not be an extra arm and a leg.

    1. I have a Shelter insurance policy that covers the cost. I asked for my neurologist to sign a document for my insurance company that explains Multiple Sclerosis is premenant disease in which there's no cure. Yearly the insurance company has to review and confirm that you are still disabled. I take pictures of the document that I am sending in so that the next year I can refer back to use the same answers and update my condition. After a few years the paperwork was down to a one page questionnaire since the same Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis and speciality Doctors have verified the permanent MS Disability.

      1. , thank you for sharing this information! It could be helpful for many of our community members, including . I know it's more of a hassle and more paperwork, but it seems worth it!
