Diagnosed on January 2011...and trying to live a normal life

I was diagnosed with MS on January 23, 2011 at the age of 36. I had this numbing down my face. My speech started to slur. My right eye then drooped. I went to see my primary physician. He said it was either Bells Palsy or I was having a stroke. So I went to the ER and I actually failed 6 out of the 10 tests for a stroke. The EKG came back normal so they sent me for an MRI. I remember the doctor coming in saying I have good news and not so good news. He says, "You didnt have a stroke but I am an MS Doctor". He then says, "You have MS"... Which I was very familiar with since my mom has it. The doctor held up the MRI chart and showed me the lesions on my brain and one on my neck. I was just in shock.

The last 2 years have really been hard. The memory loss, the constant twitching of the eye, numbness in my arms, hands, and legs. The slurred speech is a hard one and very frustrating when you are trying to focus. You know what you want to say but it doesnt seem to connect.

On July 6, 2012 I was watching my kids swim. I was only out in the sun for maybe 10 minutes when my legs collasped under me. I had to basically crawl back to my house. I was taken to hospital where I had a severe anxiety attack. I have never had an axiety attack in my life. I am on medication called Gilenya which is a daily pill. It seems to be helping a little bit. I guess time will tell. I have been reading reports about different diets which I would like to try.

So there is my story...
