Silver Lining

It is often said that every cloud has a silver lining. My silver lining came true because of my M.S. diagnosis. I was living in New York and was newly diagnosed. I could literally feel my world crashing down around me. What will I do? How will this effect my future? Thumbing through a magazine while waiting to see my neurologist, I saw an ad for a M.S. website named M.S. Watch. When I got home I logged in to it just to get a feel of what others were going through. I found myself in their chat rooms.... That's when my life suddenly changed. I began talking to a girl named Joy. She was lovely, funny and honest. We "talked" for what seemed to be hours that day. Well, chatting turned to phone calls. Phone calls turned to feelings. Joy had M.S. as well. She seemed to understand everything I was going through. Problem was that she lived in Indiana, a state I couldn't find on a map on a bet. Anyway, after about a year of our long distance relationship, we decided to "take the plunge". Joy drove about 20 hours from Indiana to New York, we finally met face to face, and back again to Indiana. My life couldn't be better. We will be married 16 years in March. We are the happiest and most in love couple I know. Joy is that once in a lifetime find that has made me the happiest man in the world. You see, even in the darkest of tines there is always light. Joy is the silver lining in my life. My life wouldn't be the same without her.
