I used to be one of 'those' people
I would see someone pull into a handicap spot and look perfectly fine as they walk into a store. I would assume they were cheating and shake my head in disgust. But things change, especially when you are diagnosed with MS.
I work on a college campus and it was a ten minute walk to and from my office. I was fine in the morning but at the end of some days it was all I could do to make it to my car. I finally asked my Dr. for a handicap placard so I could park closer. I don't use it all the time besides at work but when I have a lot of errands to run or work to do when I get home it is a life saver.
I no longer assume when I see people that 'look' fine that they are being fraudulent . I don't know their situation or what kind of pain they live with. I am no longer judging others, I am the one that is probably being judged because I look 'fine'.
