My MS anniversary
TODAY IS 6-6-14 I WAS DIAGNOSED WITH MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS 8 YEARS AGO TODAY. Do the math, that was 6-6-6, the biblical "sign of the beast", aka Satan. That seemed a little ironic and spooky at the time. It hasn't been an easy road, and yet a blessing in many ways. I've had to learn to let go of some things I held dear, both physically and mentally.
Things I thought defined me. BUT, I have also learned to embrace NEW things that have made me a better person. Life has slowed down for me. I am no longer able to hold a job and be the workaholic I once was. This has given me a lot of ... TIME... TO... THINK... a luxury most people simply do not have with their super-busy lives. MS often affects, among other things, the optic nerve resulting in erratic and/or blurry eyesight. And yet ironically, what has actually IMPROVED for me is MY VISION = I think I "SEE" things a little more clearly than before. I know more about myself, who I am and who I want to be. Rest assured, there's more to learn and MUCH more to "fix". But overall, I say it's a win. I look forward to the future as the new and improving version ..... of ME
