I'm A MeSs
I was diagnosed three years ago.
I woke up on March 23, 2010 and could not move my left leg. My husband took me to the ER and I was told that I had a stroke. When they did the MRI, they told me that I also had signs of MS on my brain.
After a week long stay in the hospital, I came home with a walker, still unable to move my leg and my left hand was also affected (of course I am left handed).
I went to the Mellen Center at the Cleveland Clinic and was told I did not have a stroke, it was a very bad MS attack.
I was put on Avonex and my body rejected it and then tried Tysabri and had a severe allergic reaction to it during my second infusion.
I have now been on Gilenya for two years. I have not had any new lesions form during this time and my existing lesions are not active. I have learned to live with the brain fog, vertigo, and numb hand and leg.
I am thankful that I am still able to live an active life.
I have MS, but it doesn't have me!!!!
