Diagnosed in May of 2011
It was a very hot day and I had a long day driving my school bus. However, when I got off my bus, I couldn't move my right arm or leg for a little while. I just took note of it and thought I was just having another bad day. However, it happened two weeks later. I ended up going to the ER and had an MRI of my brain. About half an hour later the attending physician told me I had MS. I was completely surprised and worried. I started to see a neurologist who put me on Copaxone and provigil. I did end up feeling better. However, there were so many issues to deal with, I felt overwhelmed with it all.
It's been touch and go for me; sometimes I feel wonderful and at other times I'm so tired I feel like I can't get off my living room couch. However, as time has gone by, I have learned to take things in stride. I try to go for walks as much as I can, take my medication, and spend time with my family and friends. I would love to meet others with MS and listen to their stories and make some new friends.
