   <p>Hello rodger, I&#39;m sorry no one has responded to you before now, and so sorry you&#39;ve had so much pain and difficulty with bladder issues. <br> <br> Have you asked your doctor about what steps to take if your urethra remains blocked? From what I&#39;ve read about the supra-pubic catheter (SPC), although it&#39;s designed for temporary use it can also be worn long-term if necessary.    <p>Oh I can so relate, I have had to use a catheter for more than 25 years now, ever since a serious exacerbation left me with a neurogenic bladder, occasionally I can use the bathroom but not very often, mostly I have to use a catheter. Unfortunately, I assume you&#39;ve tried the intermittent self-catheterization I have been doing - I&#39;ve been doing it so long, it&#39;s not a big deal for me but it&#39;s not easy at first and you have to have good hand control and sensation, just the kind of thing lots of folks have problems with. It sounds like the other type of catheter is the right thing for you, I hope they can assist you.</p>
