Weird MS Symptoms

Have you ever experienced what you thought was a "weird" symptom and wondered if others with MS have experienced it too?

Share your "weird" symptom here and see if others have.

  1. Inner ear pain

    1. I have been struggling with this in my left ear for 2 weeks now, I have been to the doctor and they put me on antibiotics. Now my nose keeps running and my ear still hurts. I have noticed that my balance is off, I have been nauseous at times. I didn't realize that this is part of my ms.
Yes I know I have chronic allergies, but this is really on my last nerve.

    2. I get that too. Also jaw pain and the face pain. Lyrica helps tremendously. Sometimes nothing helps. I just ride it out. I've been doing it for 50 years.

  2. So many twitches! Mostly when I'm resting, especially in the morning when I first wake up. I lie in bed feeling random twitches/jerks in my arms, shoulders, hands, legs, feet.. I never know where will twitch next...sometimes one or more per minute.

    1. yes it’s worse when laying in bed. I can feel my body like shaking but my husband says I don’t feel you shaking. It’s the weirdest feeling ever..

    2. I too deal with twitches in my legs especially my right leg. It's worse at night and when I exercise too.

  3. My recent one has me wondering is this the MS or anxiety. Occasionally I get a feeling like something is crawling on me. It's just in one spot or another, moves all over the body, but there is nothing there. It's quickly there and then gone. Sometimes it'll be once, other times it'll be once here, then in a few seconds again somewhere else.

    1. I had what we thought was a sinus infection for about ten years, along with constant MS flares as a result of the infection. My doctor sent me to an allergist, and the nurse pricked my back all over with sort of generalized allergens, plus a control prick of histamine, which tends to be very inrritating to everybody! She told me to wait fifteen minutes for the reactions to develop, and fifteen minutes later, the doctor came in to check my back and make4 some suggestions for treatment. Don't you know I didn't react to ANYTHING, including the histamine! The doctor just stared at my back and said I was theleast allergic person he had ever seen. "Usually EVERYBODY reacts to histamine!" he said, somewhat disapprovingly. I felt like I should apologize or something. Turns out that what was giving me the inflamed sinuses and congestion was the PARTICULATE from the woodstove we used to heat our house. And it wasn't a reaction, it was just the accumulated irritation from having little bits of ash in my nasal passages all the time. Funnyy how our bodies work sometimes!

    2. For me it’s like an insect is crawling on my skin. Often my legs or arms but nothing there. Still my reflex is to brush it away with my hand 🤪

    1. I get shocked every time I come inside from my deck. The static electricity is awful and then I react so strongly to being startled by it. VERY uncomfortable. I wish I had control over that startle response. It contributes to my inability to drive

    2. I am really startled by loud noises. It is like I feel noises in my spine!
