Rollators

Can anyone suggest a lightweight, sturdy, easily manueverable rollator that will work well both inside in crowds and tight spaces as well as outside to walk across a lawn to work in a garden?

  1. Hi, ! Like pretty much anything else in life (cars, homes, etc), your personal preferences are a big part of finding the right rollator for you. I did find some helpful information that might give you a good place to start. Here is a list of some good rollators -- https://www.assistedliving.org/best-walkers-for-seniors/ and here -- https://aginginplace.org/best-walkers-with-seats-rollators-with-seats/. I know that family members of mine really love having a seat on their rollators, as it's nice to have a place to sit when you get tired. You may end up needing to get two rollators -- a more compact one for being in public and a sturdier unit with bigger wheels for your gardening. Here's some suggestions for finding the best rollator for outdoor use -- https://seniorsmobility.org/getting-around/walkers/outdoor/. Fortunately, you can find decent rollators at pretty much every price point, so you might be able to find two reasonably priced rollators that meet your needs. 1. I use a Rollator every single day. I was kinda fitted for my rollator because of weight and hip width. I’m doctor wrote a prescription and sent me to Durable Medical Equipment company and they did measurements. That is how I got my rollator and it has a seat and basket. The wheels are very sturdy because I use it and take it everywhere. My apartment is in my sons basement and I have to go up a hill to get to my vehicle in driveway and no issues at all. My dad is smaller than I am and his rollator is more lightweight than mine. It all depends on what you’re looking for. Good luck with the hunt and shopping.

      1. Thank you so much for your thorough, helpful answer.
