Has anyone purchased and used a life glider?

I just came across this and was wondering if anyone in the community has every heard or used one? I think it would benefit me since there are days I feel like I just can't walk but I'm not at the wheelchair stages and my "Willie" (rollerator makes me look and feel old). This comes in at a whopping $700! Wondering if it's worth it. https://www.mylifeglider.com/customer-stories/

  1. Hi . I hope you get lots of responses from the community. I have known people with cerebral palsy who have used them and loved them. That is one steep price tag though. Have you checked with insurance to see whether they would cover all or part of it? Best wishes! - Lori (Team Member)

    1. Hi Lori, before I could even get to that step the company said my insurance will not cover it (lol, I guess they have been asked a million times so it's right on their website). I know MS society has some programs to help but even though we have a few dollars in the bank, it's for me to live on the rest of my life and hopefully I plan on living past 2 years...so they won't approve me. I know there are others out there worse off than I am so I am very blessed but you are correct that is a steep price tag (but if you look at it compared to the Alinker, which is $3,000 and wouldn't fit in my car even if I could pick it up) it's a real bargain lol! I just hate to pay for something I'm not sure would work for me. Hoping I get some answers in the community. They had 2 stories on their website of MS'er using them with videos so it did look like I good get what I need out of it.

      1. Hi ! You are smart to do some research first. It might be a worthwhile investment, especially if it gives you confidence and freedom. Have you looked into their return policy? It would be nice if there was a 30-day (or more) trial period. I hope you get some responses here. - Lori (Team Member)

        1. Yes, a 30 day return policy but the charge you for returning it (which is fair). I think there are a couple of stores here in GA that actually carry it but they are pretty far away...I think it would be worth a trip to try it out.

        2. It sounds like it might be worth it if it brings you the kind of freedom you are hoping for. If you do try it out, I would love to hear what you think. Warmly, Lori (Team Member)

      2. Hi . I did an internet search on Life Glider and similar items from other companies popped up with it that were less expensive. One stood out for me called Aosom for $130. The photograph showed lots of similarities. If you haven't already, you might look into some less expensive versions too. Good luck! Kim, moderator

        1. Correction: The item name is HOMCOM and the company name is AOSOM.

        2. Thanks so much Kim! I will look into it for sure!
