Hello. Below is an update on progress since my last posting on May 30.
I was fortunate to be able to continue the trial drug for another month due to a repair delay on the UTSW 7T MRI machine which is used throughout the treatment to evaluate the effects of the gold nanocrystals on brain lesions. I was in the trial for a total of four months with the final daily dose taken one week ago.
I had thought that once I was done with the trial that I would start to feel my MS symptoms again and was disappointed that I couldn’t continue with the treatment. So far over the past week, I have continued to experience the benefits of the therapy. I spent this afternoon at dive meet for my son and was in 85+ degree heat with high humidity for 3 hours and did not experience any double vision, foot drop, excessive numbness, or fatigue issues. I also recently developed a chest cold (not COVID!) and a minor cough - which has NOT exacerbated any MS symptoms. I view this as a miracle.
I have two more follow-up visits at the UTSW over the next 8 weeks and hope that I can find a way to acquire more of the drug and continue my progress towards a symptom-free MS experience. There continues to be no side effects from taking the drug. I still have numbness in my right-hand fingers and my gait and balance is a little off, but nowhere near as bad as before I started the trial. I still have double vision when I look to the left 30-40 degrees. My energy/cognitive levels still remain high throughout the day.
The drug is made by Clene Nanomedicine. Info on trial study and contact details are here: https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT03993171
