Copaxone injections

Is there a certain age that you stop getting MS treatments? I get a daily injection of Copaxone for 14 yrs. Should it be stopped?

  1. Hi . There are some doctors who believe MS stops progressing after a certain point, but there is not a lot of evidence to support that. Every MS journey is different, so they is no way of predicting what will happen if you stop your medication. Are you tolerating it well? Have you talked with your doctor about stopping? Here is an article about the decision to stop medications that might interest you: https://multiplesclerosis.net/living-with-ms/when-can-we-stop-taking-our-drugs. I hope this helps and that you come to a decision that makes you comfortable. Best wishes! - Lori (Team Member)

    1. Thanks, Lori. I just saw your post here. I am new to the discussion and had just posted to the thread that you mentioned! I had read some literature about stopping MS meds after a certain age as our immune systems weaken as we age. Wish that there were more info out there about how MS acts in older people after 20 years of minimal impacts.
